Senior Division FAQs

Where is the Senior Division Day Camp?
Campers will arrive at and be dismissed from PS 234 which is located on the corner of Greenwich and Warren Streets. Everyday our senior division campers go to PS 89 the beautiful, air-conditioned facility on the Northwest corner of Warren and West Streets, which also houses a gym, an auditorium and multiple activity rooms. The camp also utilizes the Battery Park City and Hudson River Park Ballfields, Pier 25 and our own Downtown Community Center private pool for swimming.

What activities does it offer?
This program is for campers who like a variety of activities, including swimming, arts and crafts, and sports. In addition to the regular schedule, campers will have a "choice" activity period where they can enjoy an extra period of their favorite activity, allowing for some flexibility.

Who are the staff at the camp?
We are extremely proud of our camp staff. Campers aren't the only ones who love camp so much that they keep coming back for years. Each season 80-90% of our staff return to the Downtown Day Camp (an extremely high camp return rate). Our counselors are high achieving college and high school students, and they are supervised by team leaders who are school or elementary school teachers and child-care administrators during the year.

Can children take a bus to the Downtown Day Camp?
Yes. There is morning and evening transportation to and from the Downtown Day Camp. We have five buses covering Lower Manhattan (see registrations forms on our website for bus stop locations and times). There are counselors on the bus in the morning and afternoon who do not dismiss campers unless an adult is waiting to pick them up at their stop.

Can I drop off my child before 9AM? Or pick up after 5PM?
Yes. We offer early drop-off and late pick-up for an extra fee. You can drop off your child at camp between 8:00 and 8:45AM, and/or pick up between 5:15 and 6:00 PM. General arrival time for all other campers is 9 AM, and dismissal is 5 PM sharp.
