Quest to Learn

Welcome to after school at Quest to Learn Middle School! The Manhattan Youth After-School Program at Quest to Learn gives your child a safe place to go every day after school to complete homework assignments, play for the school's sports teams, perform in plays, learn to cook, serve the community, and so much more! 

Attendance 
If you know your child will be absent from after school, please contact Judah Levenson, the site director (see contact information below). If a student is absent from an activity without a note from a parent/guardian, he/she may lose his/her slot in the activity for which s/he has registered. If a student wishes to change his/her schedule or drop any or all after-school activities, we ask that the parent/guardian submit a request in writing. 

Quest to Learn Middle School Sports Teams 
Fall Sports (September - November): Soccer, Volleyball, Cross Country, Flag Football, Wrestling 
Winter Sports (November - March): Basketball, Table Tennis
Spring Sports (March - June): Baseball, Softball, Track & Field, Ultimate Frisbee 

Quest to Learn Middle School Performing Arts Program

This spring students will have the opportunity to choose from the following performing arts activities:

·         Hip Hop Dance

·         Hip Hop Poetry

·         Improv Theater

·         Shakespeare Theater

Each club will perform in our Spring Showcase in early June (date TBD).


Daily Schedule 
After school activities begin at 2:25pm directly after the last bell. FREE snack is provided in the cafeteria from 2:25 (after the last bell) to 3:00pm. Students will have the opportunity to socialize, use their phones, use the restroom, and eat during snack time.  ***PLEASE NOTE:*** Students are NOT permitted to leave the building and return to school to attend after school programs. Students who do not check in with an after school staff member in the cafeteria by 2:40pm may not attend after school programs.

The DAILY after school schedule is as follows:
2:25 - 3:00 pm:

In this club you will work together with your friends to make a short film that will be submitted to the SONYC film festival.

Hip Hop Dance

Monday & Thursday

Come ready to dance and learn new moves each class! No experience required. At the end of the year students will have the opportunity to perform for the whole community.

Improv Theater

 

Wednesday

In this club, you will learn theater games, develop scenes and write your own scripts. At the end of the year students will have the opportunity to perform for the whole community.

Makerspace

Thursday

This club is a place where you can tinker, create, build, and collaborate with your peers. Students will work with knex, robotics, and electronics materials.

Music and Game Zone

Thursday

Looking for a play to relax, listen to music, and play quiet games with your friends? This is the club for you!

Parkour

 

Monday

This club is similar to gymnastics but with a fun twist! You will get to go outside and practice your moves in a local park.

Shakespeare Theater

 

Thursday

In this club you will learn fundamentals of acting, voice, and scene studies. You are your peers will have the opportunity to perform for the whole community in June.

Skateboarding

 

Monday

Come prepared to learn how to ollie, kick flip, and cruise around on a skateboard. We do have boards and helmets available for beginners. 

Ultimate Frisbee

 

Wednesday & Friday

Ultimate Frisbee is a combination of football and soccer… but with a Frisbee! Our team will look to continue developing its skills and compete against other schools from around the city.

Yoga

 

Tuesday

In this club you will learn basic yoga poses along with lessons for healthy living and eating. Yoga is an excellent activity where you can relax and seek inner calm.
