End of the year celebrations

In just over a week, our spring performances will begin.  We've got theater, dance, singing, and fantastical stories from The Wizard of Oz to Seussical the Musical!  We couldn't be more excited about these productions!

We're also about to hold end of the year showings for many of our After-School clubs.  Filmmaking, songwriting, art, ceramics, dane, and many more clubs will showcase what they've been working on all semester.

Gardening with Manhattan Youth

Our students have been hard at work on several gardening projects.  Little Sprouts, an introduction to gardening for kids 3 years and older, takes field trips to farmers markets and community gardens around the city.

And down at Battery Urban Farm, our students from I.S. 289 have been busy planting many edible veggies and herbs--basil, parsley, carrots, tomatoes, kale, and several varieties of lettuce, just to name a few.  We love that our kids enjoy getting their hands dirty and participating in such a healthy, relaxing, mindfull outdoor activity!
